Reference guide : list of possibilities

Images processing

* Edition
        Copy, extraction or insertion of a sub image
        Random images
        Image color transformation towards three monochromic images and conversely

* Thresholding
        Interactive thresholding or not, automatic thresholding
        Labeling

* Point to point feature
        Histogram equalization, standardization, local equalization of histogram, lut modification (assignment table)
        Arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), linear combination of  images, absolute value,            minimum and maximum between two images
        Logical operations (and, or, xor, nand, nxor, not, sub)

* Morphology mathematical operations
        Erosion, dilatation, opening, closing, interactive top hat or not.
        Fill holes, remove edges of field, reconstruction, extrema local.
        Thinning, thickening, geodetic propagation.
        Distance, maxima and local minima computation, numerical reconstruction
        Watershed

* Filtering and convolution
        Filtering by finished core size (FIR), recursive filtering, separable filters, gradient, Laplacian.
        Median and separable median filter
   * Geometry
        Symmetry, rotation, adjustment to a given size.

Image Analysis:

* Global measurements
        Volume, surface inertie moments, connexes component.

* Statistical measurements
        Histogram by classes, comparison, average, standard deviation.
        Individual measurements of geometrical type
        Volume, Crofton surface, Barycentre (x, y, z), Inertia Moments, Bounding box, Factor of form according to volume&surface

* Individual measurements of radiometric type
        Maximum, mininum, average, standard deviation

 * Users measurements Each user can define new measurements starting from elementary         measurements above and this without any programming.

 * Calibration Visilog is a software for quantification, has functionality for images calibration. Calibration       includes geometrical aspect: voxels size in each direction, and a radiometric aspect  mapping of the       values of intensity with a physical size.

Scripting

 * processing can be automated by VBA scripts.

Large 3D images

* Processed images may not need to be fully loaded in memory: in this case correct operation of    the    algorithms requires to have in memory only some slices of the 3D image. This raises    practically most    limitation on the size of the 3D images being able to be treated. Notice that the    Visilog can process    image directly from file to file.
