A. Installing Voxler requires that you be logged into an account that has Administrator rights. Golden Software does not recommend installing Voxler 3 over any previous version of Voxler. Q10. I can't find the Property Manager, Network Manager, or Module Manager. How can I get it back?

A. The Property Manager, NetworkManager, and Module Manager windows can be restored to their default docked position by using the View | Reset Windows command.

Q11. Why does Voxler seem to be running slow?

A. Make sure your OpenGL driver is hardware accelerated. The drivers that come from Microsoft are usually NOT accelerated, while the drivers that come from the hardware manufacturer usually ARE accelerated.
  • Make sure hardware acceleration is enabled in Files | Preferences | Enable Hardware Acceleration. Note that you must restart Voxler for this setting to take effect.
  • Some of the higher quality transparency modes can greatly slow down rendering. Make sure View | Transparency Type is set to Blend for best performance.
  • If there is a lot of hard disk activity and everything seems extremely slow, then your computer may have run out of memory and is trying to page to disk. Voxler requires all network data and graphics output to reside in memory. Several steps can be taken to reduce the amount of required memory:
    • Use the Subset module to extract a portion of large lattices, save the extracted data to disk, and use the saved file in future runs.
    • Use the ChangeType module to change the data type of large datasets to one that requires fewer bytes.
    • Avoid graphics that require large amounts of memory like Heightfields.

Q12. What are the terms of the Golden Software End User License Agreement?

A. The full details of the End User License Agreement (EULA) may be found at http://www.goldensoftware.com/home/terms-of-use. The salient points of the EULA are as follows:

  • All Golden Software licenses are single user licenses, where a user is a person and not a machine.
  • Licenses may not be shared among multiple users.
  • Network installation is allowed, as long as a separate license is purchased for each individual user who will access the network install. For instance, if 4 different users plan to access the software, 4 individual licenses must be purchased.
  • Software may only be used on one computer at any time.
  • Software may be installed on multiple computers (i.e. home, office desktop, and field laptop), as long as only the licensed user accesses the software on any of the computers.
  • One (1) copy of the software and one (1) copy of the user documentation maybe be made for backup purposes only.
  • License may be transferred to another user by the registered user contacting the Golden Software sales department.
  • After a license is transferred to another user, the original user must uninstall the software from all machines they had it installed on. Any copies on original user’s hard-disk drive(s) or back-up media must also be destroyed.
  • After a license is upgraded to a newer version, the older software must be uninstalled. Any older version CDs, serial numbers, or backup copies on hard-disk drive(s) or back-up media must be destroyed within sixty (60) days of the upgrade.

Q13. I have a more technical question about the program, where can I find the answer?
