Q1. What is the latest version?

A. The most recent version of Grapher is 11.1.681.

Q2. How can I get the latest version of Grapher?

A. Minor updates (e.g. version 11.0 to 11.1) may be downloaded for free if your serial number is registered. Connect your computer to the Internet, then click the File | Online | Check for Update command in Grapher. This will download the latest patch and install it on your machine. Information about the latest version is listed on the Version History page.

If you experience any problems with this command or would like to download the full version of the updated software, please email your registered Grapher 11 serial number to graphersupport@goldensoftware.com. Once your serial number is verified, we will send you download instructions.

Major upgrades (e.g. version 10 to version 11) cost US$169 plus shipping. Refer to the order form for more information.

Q6. How do I install Grapher?

A. Installing Grapher 11 requires that you be logged into an account that has Administrator rights. Golden Software does not recommend installing Grapher 11 over any previous version of Grapher. Please ensure that you install Grapher 11 into a new directory, which is what will happen by default. Grapher 11 can co-exist with older versions as long as they are in different directories.

To begin the installation, either insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive, or double-click on the downloaded EXE file to run it. See below for details of each method.

Installing Grapher on a Local Drive from CD:

  1. Insert the CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive. The Setup program automatically begins on most computers.
  2. Choose the "Install Grapher" option from the screen and setup will begin.
If the Setup program does not automatically start, double-click on the My Computer icon on your desktop. Open the CD-ROM drive which contains the Grapher disk by double-clicking on the CD-ROM icon. From the CD-ROM folder find and double-click on Autorun.exe to launch Grapher's Setup program. Select "Install Grapher" option and setup will begin.

Q11. Is technical support free?

A. Yes, technical support is free to all users for as long as you own the product. You must register your product in order to receive technical support. You can reach technical support by phone, fax, or email.

Q12. Does Grapher run under Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8 using 32-bit and 64-bit versions?

A. Yes, Grapher 11 comes as a 32-bit application and as a 64-bit application. Both can be installed and run on Windows 64-bit.

Q13. Should I install the Grapher 32-bit or Grapher 64-bit?

A. If you are using a 32-bit version of Windows, then Grapher 11 32-bit is installed automatically.

If you are using a 64-bit version of Windows, then Grapher 11 64-bit is installed automatically. There is an option to install the 32-bit version instead, but we recommend installing the 64-bit version of Grapher 11. Although Grapher 32-bit is capable of installing and running on Windows 64-bit, the 32-bit version of Grapher 11 does not take advantage of the increased 64-bit memory space.

Q14. One of my manager windows has disappeared! What can I do to get it back?

A. Grapher 11 has a command that will reset manager windows to their default positions to address this issue. Click the View | Display | Reset Windows command. Click OK in the dialog prompting you to restart Grapher. Save any open Grapher files and click the File | Exit command. When you reopen Grapher, all of the manager windows will be back in their default positions.

Q15. Do you offer a Mac version of your software?

A. Grapher 11 is a Windows program. Golden Software does not offer any versions of our software that are compatible with any Mac operating systems. However, we have heard from several users that our programs will run on a Windows emulator. Windows emulators allow a Windows environment to run on a Mac operating system. Golden Software products may be able to be run from within the Windows emulator. However, we do not test our software under these conditions. We suggest downloading the demos and trying it for yourself. Thank you for your patience.

Q16. What are the terms of the Golden Software End User License Agreement?

A. The full details of the End User License Agreement (EULA) may be found at http://www.goldensoftware.com/home/terms-of-use. The salient points of the EULA are as follows:
  • All Golden Software licenses are single user licenses, where a user is a person and not a machine.
  • Licenses may not be shared among multiple users.
  • Network installation is allowed, as long as a separate license is purchased for each individual user who will access the network install. For instance, if 4 different users plan to access the software, 4 individual licenses must be purchased.
  • Software may only be used on one computer at any time.
  • Software may be installed on multiple computers (i.e. home, office desktop, and field laptop), as long as only the licensed user accesses the software on any of the computers.
  • One (1) copy of the software and one (1) copy of the user documentation maybe be made for backup purposes only.
  • License may be transferred to another user by the registered user contacting the Golden Software sales department.
  • After a license is transferred to another user, the original user must uninstall the software from all machines they had it installed on. Any copies on original user’s hard-disk drive(s) or back-up media must also be destroyed.
  • After a license is upgraded to a newer version, the older software must be uninstalled. Any older version CDs, serial numbers, or backup copies on hard-disk drive(s) or back-up media must be destroyed within sixty (60) days of the upgrade.

Q17. I have a more technical question about the program, where can I find the answer?
